Eucalyptus pilularis - Blackbutt
An abundant coastal eucalypt with a rough trunk that is variable in its extent and texture and smooth branches which may be yellow, cream, white, grey or blotchey. Fruit is also variable. Many of the local eucalypt woodlands are almost exclusively E pilularis with understorey. Koalas use the comfortable branches to rest but rarely eat the leaves. Flowers in summer.
